A beautiful handmade paper made with 100% Japanese (Okayama) gampi. One long edge has a folded over deckle. Excellent for pen and ink, layering, intaglio and especially chine-colle. Cooked with soda ash and dried on wooden boards. Heritage Washi (HW)

    Palladium Prints On Gampi

    Sekishu torinoko gampi has that magical quality not found with any other type of paper. I use the term paper loosely as this style of gampi is more like a tissue. The surface sheen of gampi gives my palladium prints a very subtle three dimensional look. The craftsmanship and quality of sekishu torinoko gampi is beyond amazing. The look and feel of the palladium image can also be changed by using a cream colored backing paper. While I like the natural color of gampi, I have on occasion bleached the gampi to get that traditional white color. I highly recommend picking up a few sheets to try.
