This lovely, small-format sheet is handmade in Kurotani, the oldest continuous papermaking village in Japan. Tanabata is an annual "star festival" where people write wishes on small pieces of coloured paper and hang them on bamboo branches. Reflecting this tradition, Kurotani Binsen Tanabata features colourful paper inclusions. Made from 100% Japanese kozo fibre, it is suitable for a wide range of uses, including printmaking, brush calligraphy, and drawing.
