This top-quality washi is crafted by a master papermaker from the Kobayashi family in Niigata Prefecture. Locally grown kozo is cooked with soda ash and snow bleached. Each sheet is hand-formed on a screen that leaves a distinctive laid line, then stored using a traditional method called kangure, where the paper is placed under snow until spring. Ideal for chine-collé, drawing, and painting. Heritage Washi (HW)
