Exceptional, conservation-quality, machine-made paper using Japanese gampi. A favourite among printmakers for chine colle, it is strong enough to print on its own. It can also be digitally printed when attached to a carrier sheet. Gorgeous for layering with drawing and mixed media.
Formed on slow-running machines that distribute fibres evenly, this paper is made in Kochi by Kashiki Mill, producer of high-quality paper for conservation and art. Gampi has high capacity to shrink when wet and dried. It has limited use in conservation but is sometimes used for repairing vellum.
