Where do Chiyogami patterns come from?

Many Chiyogami patterns are based on traditional designs, including birds, flowers, plants, butterflies, geometric motifs or text. Studio designers can also be inspired by fashion, books, or scenes. They are inventing new patterns every month.

To the right is a Chiyogami studio artist with a design based on a tie pattern. (Click on image to view a larger version.)
