Shoji Papers
SHOJI, the sliding doors covered with paper over wooden lattice, are becoming an appropriate way for westerners to divide space in a light-retaining way.  They can also be used to make distinctive shutters.  Following are a variety of papers we stock for this purpose.  Often, the better quality rolls are also used by printmakers.

Prices subject to change due to fluctuation in the Japanese Yen.
For more details or to order, please go to our online order form or contact us directly.
Sample sets of the shoji papers are available for $25 each.

Fine Woodworking Japanese Paper Special

In honour of our friends from Fine WoodWorking, we are delighted to offer these three collections of exquisite Japanese papers selected specifically for use by fine woodworkers.

All 3 collections focus on traditional papers, handmade (HM) in Japan, between 20 x 30" and 29 x 40". You may also be interested in our shoji rolls, above.

Unlike the handmade papers mass-produced in some Asian markets, these papers represent the culmination of a 1400-year tradition of Japanese papermaking that has evolved hand-in-hand with a strong woodworking tradition. Exceptionally durable and flexible, and as beautiful to touch and work with as they are to see, they represent some of the finest papers we carry.
