| These papers are made by master craftspersons, using traditional tools and techniques, handed down through the generations in Japan.
Our mission at the JPP is to support these valuable makers of traditional papers and to encourage the use of the finest papers by artists worldwide.
We believe that this paper will work with
the artist to bring out the best of an artist's
skill, be it block printing, etching, lithography,
drawing, watercolour or acrylic painting, brush
calligraphy, bookbinding, paper dyeing, sculpture
or any other application that uses the special
qualities of finely-made "washi."
It is these papers we believe most suitable for professional artists who care for the quality of the materials they use and want their work to last long into the centuries to come.
