We do more than just sell paper! We have a passion for sharing our love of Japanese paper and paper arts with the world. Below we list other events that take place at our warehouse including washi-related exhibitions and lectures. If you or someone you know is exhibiting work featuring Japanese paper, let us know and we would be delighted to list it here.

Washi Birthday Bash

This year, from June 1-19th, activities at various venues in Toronto created a "Washi Birthday Bash". It was the year 610 CE when washi technique was brought to Japan by Buddhist monks from China. This year, then, is washi's 1400th birthday. The workshops and many exhibitions are over, but a couple are still on for a few more days. Find out more over at washisummit.com, or see some of the pictures over on Facebook.

We are also pleased to present an exhibit from July 12 to 31 of Toronto School of Art student works from their June washi course. More details will be posted as they become available.

Printopolis will be a 4-day symposium with an international focus on contemporary printmaking being presented by Open Studio and held in Toronto, Canada, October 21 - 24, 2010.

Printopolis will feature issue-based panel discussions/presentations, artist talks and printmaking demonstrations. This citywide event will feature exhibitions highlighting contemporary print media works on display throughout Toronto.

We'll be having an exhibition at The Japanese Paper Place, so stay tuned for more details.
