From our Toronto, Ontario
warehouse, we wholesale imported Japanese
papers to resellers, manufacturers and artists around the world. Our facility includes a 10,000 foot warehouse, a full-time cutter and production staff as well as our office area, workshop space and Artist Resource Centre.
We continue to host regular workshops at the warehouse, organized to offer instruction and inspiration in using the papers of Japan, so full of creative potential. What do people DO with it? Join us at one of our workshops to find out!

"What happened to the store?"
In October
2005, the store at 887 Queen Street
West in Toronto changed its name and
ownership. The Japanese Paper Place
became The Paper
Place, and the owners
became Heather Sauer and Kevin Anderson.
What has remained constant is
the ready retail availability on Queen
Street West of a wide array of
Japanese Papers, supplied by The
Japanese Paper Place, sold through
The Paper Place. Specializing in
paper for craft of all kinds, gift-wrapping,
invitation, and other printable
applications, The Paper Place is
where enthusiasts need to go for
these end-uses. |

The mission of The Japanese Paper
Place remains "To encourage
and promote creativity through the sale
of quality Japanese papers and related
materials." Our 23 years on Queen
Street West were incredible, as we
have watched it change from "no-man’s
land" to the trend-centre it is
today, seeing the customer base transform
from predominantly artists to younger
up-scale urbanites, professionals and
home-owners.
Japanese papers have much to offer both
worlds, and it seemed time to separate
the two audiences to look after each appropriately
- with total dedication and service. I
trust that The Paper Place at
887 Queen Street West will be a continuing
mecca for paper-lovers and The
Japanese Paper Place on Brock
Avenue will continue to be the centre from
which Japanese paper gradually gains its
rightful place as one of the world’s
unparalleled creative resources.
